Hotel Room Desk & Bedside Lamps: A Bulk Buyer’s Guide

About me

Hi, I’m Helen, the Marketing Manager at Royelamp. I specialize in bringing high-quality LED desk lamps to wholesalers in the USA, UK, and the Netherlands. I love connecting with customers, ensuring they get reliable, competitively priced products. Let’s work together to brighten spaces and create lasting partnerships!

A hotel room can need a writing light, a bedside reading light and a convenient place to charge a phone. Putting the same multifunction lamp at every position may simplify the order, but it can leave the desk poorly served and the bedside unnecessarily complicated.

For hotel suppliers, purchasing teams and serviced-apartment operators, RoyeLamp offers several formats to shortlist: RY26-A for an adjustable writing-desk setup, RY29 for a compact bedside night-light and wireless-charging combination, and RY2230-M when a clock and multiple charging positions are part of the brief. This guide helps you choose which models to sample and what information to send us for a useful bulk quotation.

Start your RoyeLamp shortlist

Match each lamp to its job, then compare the complete quoted configuration. Send us your desk and bedside dimensions, room quantities, destination and required charging functions. Ask for model-specific pricing and paid samples before committing to a full-room rollout.

1. Separate a writing lamp from a bedside light

Begin with the furniture plan, not a preferred colour or charging wattage. At a writing desk, identify where a guest will put a laptop, notebook and drink. At the bed, identify whether the lamp is expected to support reading, provide low-level light, or both. Include any reading lights already built into the headboard.

A compact night light may be a useful companion to a dedicated reading light. That does not make it a substitute for one. Likewise, an adjustable desk lamp can serve a writing area without being the best choice for a small bedside table.

On a phone, scroll within the table to see all columns.

Lamp positionDefine the taskWhat the sample must demonstrate
Writing deskReading documents or working beside a laptopUseful light on the actual task area, enough remaining desk space, reachable controls and manageable screen reflections
Bedside with an existing reading lightLow-level local lighting; charging if requiredAcceptable minimum brightness, understandable controls and space for the guest’s belongings
Bedside without a separate reading lightReading plus low-level useLight on the book from the intended reclining position; a decorative glow alone is insufficient evidence
Twin-room bedside positionsIndependent use by two guestsEach guest can reach a control and use their light without unacceptable spill toward the other bed

Do not calculate coverage from lumens alone. A stated output is not a measurement of light on the page at your chosen mounting height. For measurement-led comparisons, use the same setup for each sample; our desk lamp coverage guide explains the distinction.

2. Choose the RoyeLamp model for each room position

Our range lets you compare a task-focused desk lamp with bedside formats that combine lighting and charging. Start with the role below, review the product details, and tell us which configuration you want quoted. Final suitability for commercial use, the power kit and destination documentation should be confirmed with your quotation and sample.

WRITING-DESK CANDIDATE

RY26-A: put adjustable lighting at the writing desk

RY26-A combines a foldable structure with five colour-temperature modes and five brightness levels, giving guests several ways to adjust their writing-desk light. Its USB cable-charging output adds a charging option without requiring a wireless pad. Shortlist this model when adjustable task lighting is the main priority.

Project question: Can the guest position the head over the writing area while leaving room for a laptop and operating the controls comfortably?

LOW-LEVEL BEDSIDE CANDIDATE

RY29: combine bedside light and phone charging

RY29 brings an adjustable LED arch, a fabric-finish base, three colour-temperature modes and touch dimming into one compact night-light format. Its stated 10W wireless-charging function lets compatible phones charge at the same position. Shortlist it when you want local bedside lighting and a charging pad together, especially where a separate reading light already serves the bed.

Project question: Does it suit the bedside task and cleaning routine? Check reading performance separately if no other reading light is provided.

Existing product illustrations show form and appearance. They do not document a hotel project, measured coverage or cleaning resistance.

RY2230-M: add a clock and multiple charging positions

If the room brief specifically calls for a clock and several charging positions, RY2230-M is another format to evaluate. Its page presents a clock display and positions for a compatible phone, watch and earbuds. That creates extra approval questions: display brightness, clock reset, supported devices and operation with multiple loads.

The reason to shortlist RY2230-M is integration: a clock display and charging positions for several compatible devices in one bedside format. Send us the phone, watch and earbud models you want supported so the quoted configuration can be checked against your brief. If the room only needs light and phone charging, compare the simpler RY29 format first.

3. Test the guest experience after dark—and after power returns

Evaluate a bedside sample from the bed, with the curtains closed and the room lighting in its intended night setting. A showroom inspection with every light on will not answer the same questions.

Can a first-time user operate it?

Ask someone unfamiliar with the lamp to turn it on, reduce the brightness and turn it off. Observe whether the controls are visible and reachable, whether a long press is necessary, and whether switching off requires cycling through bright settings. Record where help was needed. This is a usability review, not a claim that any control type is inherently unsuitable.

For bedside use, check the minimum usable light level as well as the maximum. Observe the light source, charging indicators and clock display from the pillow position. If darkness is required when the lamp is off, specify that as an acceptance condition; do not assume every indicator or display can be disabled.

What happens when the room’s power supply changes?

Some projects use switched sockets or room energy controls. Have the property’s engineering team identify which supply the lamp will actually use. Test that arrangement with the approved adapter; do not modify room wiring as part of an informal sample check.

Record the restart state, not just “memory: yes”.

With the light off, interrupt and restore its supply: does it remain off? Repeat from an agreed brightness and colour setting: what returns? For a clock model, check time retention and reset steps. For charging, check whether it resumes under the same arrangement. Write down the required result for each function.

A lamp that restores the previous setting may suit one room-control scheme and conflict with another. Agree the desired behaviour with the operator, then have the supplier confirm the ordered version. A sample result applies to that configuration, not automatically to later electronic revisions.

Keep charging promises narrower than the guest’s device collection

Choose whether the brief needs lighting only, a cable-charging output or wireless charging. A USB connector shape does not establish a laptop-charging capability, and a stated wireless wattage does not promise that every phone will charge at that rate.

Request a supported-device list and check representative phones with their intended cases, using the quoted adapter and cable. If a supplier claims Qi certification, ask for the exact product identity and verify it in the Wireless Power Consortium’s certified-product database. The WPC distinguishes certification from general compatibility claims. This article does not assert that the RoyeLamp examples are Qi Certified.

When charging is part of the room offer, also observe the sample with the light off and while charging in a quiet room. Record noticeable sound and indicator behaviour. Do not advertise “silent” from a catalogue description or a brief daytime check.

4. Ask housekeeping what they will have to reset

A room lamp is handled by more than the guest. Include housekeeping in the sample review before approving its finish or accessories.

  • Cleaning: obtain written cleaning instructions and check them against the property’s actual products and method. For a fabric-finish base, evaluate how the approved method handles marks; do not assume wipe-clean or disinfectant resistance.
  • Repositioning: agree where the lamp, adapter and cable belong after cleaning. Check whether the cable can be routed without being pinched by furniture or pulled taut when the lamp moves.
  • Resetting: document the desired light setting, any clock-setting steps and how to recognize a disconnected power kit. A useful room-reset instruction should be short enough to follow during turnover.
  • Replacement: label the approved lamp-and-adapter combination in the maintenance record. Do not substitute an adapter solely because its connector fits.

Ask the supplier which parts are replaceable, who may replace them, and which configurations must be stocked as complete units. Agree spare quantities from your room count, replenishment lead time and service plan—not an unexplained percentage. Our spare-parts purchasing guide covers the commercial details.

5. Approve a furnished-room sample, with named owners

Install samples in representative room layouts before releasing the bulk quantity. Where furniture, socket positions or bed arrangements differ, one room is not a sufficient stand-in for all of them. Use the actual proposed power kit and keep the existing room lights in the review.

01 / DESIGN & OPERATIONS

Fit and guest use

Check usable furniture space, appearance, book and desk lighting, access to controls, minimum brightness and unwanted spill. Record any difference between left and right bedside positions.

02 / ENGINEERING

Supply and restart

Record the adapter and cable, socket arrangement, power-restoration behaviour and charging configuration. Route safety and destination-document questions to the responsible reviewer.

03 / HOUSEKEEPING

Cleaning and reset

Review the approved cleaning method, repositioning, cable handling and any clock or control reset. Flag tasks the team cannot reliably reproduce.

04 / PROCUREMENT

Freeze the order

Attach the accepted model revision, finish, accessories, instructions and room allocation to the quote. Resolve exceptions before signing off on production.

Keep a dated record with photographs and a clear outcome for each item: accepted, change required or not yet verified. A furnished-room trial helps establish functional fit. It does not establish service life, electrical safety certification or resistance to every cleaning chemical.

6. Quote by lamp position, not just by room count

“We need lamps for 80 rooms” leaves the supplier guessing. State how many writing-desk and bedside units each room type needs, then list service spares and approval samples separately.

Illustrative quantity schedule—not a customer project

Suppose 60 rooms need one desk lamp and one bedside unit, while 20 twin rooms need one desk lamp and two bedside units. The installed requirement is 80 desk lamps and 100 bedside units: 180 lamps in total, before samples or service spares. If the two room types use different bedside models, split that quantity into separate quote lines.

For each line, request the unit price with the specified adapter, plug, cable and accessories; packaging and carton details; sample cost and timing; production lead time; delivery terms; and warranty terms that explicitly address the intended commercial use. Separate a required arrival date from a factory completion date. If a finish or control behaviour is essential, make it part of the written configuration rather than a conversation note.

RoyeLamp currently publishes starting MOQs of 10 units without a custom logo and 100 with a logo, with paid samples and a stated 15–30-day lead time subject to order confirmation. Confirm how these terms apply to each model, finish and order mix. Custom packaging and sample timing are quoted separately. See the current catalogue and ordering terms.
